    Does it spin freely? Check wastegate flap(remove little clip and disconnect pushrod) - it may be sticking open. Flap should move very freely.

    There are a few reasons why it does that: -dirty air filter -siezing turbo(along with damaged compressor wheel fins) -blocked intercooler. I was figthing with this for a long time, ended up replacing the turbo, as it was using too much oil recently: Shaft was probably siezing, too much force...

    It's funny situation, because properly adjusted cold M51 Enigne will start with half a turn of crankshaft even with almost flat battery - gearbox fault will probably show up, but it starts! Hot starting becomes a problem when real kick from starter is needed. :D

    Do not lock the fan solid! It's big and heavy fan and it will explode(or go through radiator) if you give it some revs! Make sure that all radiators are clean from outside - air flow restriction will boil coolant very quick.

    Looks like electrical problem, maybe poor earth connection somewhere. Maybe it is overheating only when brake pedal pressed? Check that it is really overheating. Does putting hevac on maximum heating reduce temperature? With temp guage on maximum and red light on, there should be a big pressure...

    When i bought mine almost 10 years ago, it had all factory covers(under engine and gearbox). Still have engine cover, but it's sitting somewhere in garage. Gearbox one got ripped when offroading long time ago - plastic simply doesn't last it that conditions. Also sound deadening acts as oil...

    DSE Head removal

    Do the timng chains while you are taking the head off - it's cheap, even genuine parts. Remember to replace all angle tightened bolts(head bolts, crankshaft center bolt, camshaft bolt etc.) with new genuine ones!

    You just need 664 type battery. Yuasa makes good batteries for example. :D

    Don't buy cheap aftermarket ones, you will regret it. :D Only genuine fan clutch works properly.

    If it's running on full blast all the time, then it's not normal. Fan clutch should only engage above certain temperature. It can be even siezed, which can cause the fan to explode.

    Front hub / wheel bearing

    It's not that hard to replace if you have access to press. The most problematic part is snapring removal(ussually "integrated" with outer bearing housing). Once everything cleaned up, fitting new bearing is a piece of cake. :D
