    yep thats the one and yes friggin Porky had it :mad:. . . .got the belts off got the compessor off and tied up , but it aint stopped raining so it will all have to wait ,the heinz manwell is useless for this job ,if i can get some pics might do a write up on this job as its a reet pig to do...

    you can test them with drum off , get a helper in cab to operate brake while you watch . . . .warning make sure its a little push at a time as you dont want to go to far. . . .as the last thread, i have found a good clean sorts it :)

    Ok changing the alternater [pig of a job] but need a bit of help, need to replace the belts at same time, well i had a spanner that was a long reach 24mm i think slight off set last time i replaced them but be dammed if i can find it [think i lent it out] anyhows been trying to buy one and...

    Its pefectily safe just make sure you have the radio code ,just dissconect the + if your doing leccy work but if charging up dissconect both + and - so you dont goose anything :)

    Bleedin friggin gaylander:mad: was off road today had a quick job to do and a load more in the afternoon ,anyhows saw smoke coming from the front and it smelt all leccy and low un behold alternator light comes on, now like a prat i switches off engine to inspect and bang things with my hammer...

    I snapped the linkage of my passengers front wiper last week bought a metal clip off flea blag and fitted it on [easy job] and greased up all the linkages , anyhows i was so impressed with this linkage that have now bought another for the drivers side ,its spose to be a temp fix but its better...

    There is a proper reset procedure but if Mavericks one works thats fine , someone will will come and tell you the correct procedure i carnt as i'm in ma space rockit at the moment just about to go round yeranus [fer gems] :)

    Yup welcome back i had the jatco box go years ago now paid the piper [Ashcroft] for a recon box , must say it has not missed a beat looking back it was money well spent, most jobs i sort out myself but to be honest its been really good and as i do go off the beaten track quite a bit copes well ...

    Freelander 1 v6 starter motor

    I know this might sound silly ,but double check your battery is good before decapitating starter motor, had it on mine and was convinced it was the solenoid . . . . .but after eliminating that favorite is the brass internals of solenoid arced up , easy job I'm told

    Brake Question- TD4 - 2002 - Mk1 ES (pads and disks)

    At 80k miles i would change the discs its an easy job just make sure you get correct vented type also new pads and a smidge of copper paste on the moving parts [not on the discs or pads] :) :) :)

    front engine guard rear bolt sheared through , looks good on inspection but can flap and bang at low speed , had it on mine was driving me mad till i pulled it down and released it :) new bolt wiff a penny washer sorted it. . . . .
