Eyup fellow Freelanderers ;)

I have replaced:
drop links
ARB bushes
and centralised the arb by using jubilees/washers

but still get a clunky noise when going over biggish bumps at 10+ mph.
it sounds like it is mainly on the drivers side front and isn't the strut top cos I checked it.

what do you think I should check next?

I have the same issues on my freelander 1. I'm going to replace both wishbones and rear wishbone bushes as I suspect it's my ball joints

hmmm i was kid of thinking ball joints but i've had the drivers side one off to replace the rubber gaiter for the mot....i will now check that i tightened the thing up properly though now

definately Crombie you'd be well advised to do that. :)

i checked mine whilst i had it apart and it was fine, i am pretty sure i tightened it enough but you never know.

this clunk should not be there

i've even checked that the battery is fastened down properly and running out of options

Lower ball joints and track rod ends are prime candidates. Also the wheel bearings can knock but all would have been picked up at the Mot. It's common for Delphi shock valves can knock too!!

lower ball joints checked out ok

track rod ends are new

this is why I need input, I really have explored the limit of what I know.

it will probably be summat daft!

front engine guard rear bolt sheared through , looks good on inspection but can flap and bang at low speed , had it on mine was driving me mad till i pulled it down and released it :) new bolt wiff a penny washer sorted it. . . . .

Did you check lower ball joints with the vehicle weight on or off the ball joints? as this will make a difference.......
