I'm checking the resistance on abs sensors tomorrow on my 03 td4 as per "royturbodiesels" post. Is it definately ok to disconnect the battery? I did this once on a peogeot I owned and then had to pay to get the engine immobiliser unlocked. Don't want to make a similar mistake.
No point in disconnecting the battery to work on electrics if you are going to keep the systems live from another source. That trick is only suitable when changing the battery.Before you disconnect set up a feed from another 12v source, you wont loose any settings by doing this. I think you can buy gadgets with a power source that plug in to the cigar lighter socket if you dont want to rig something up.
