    Defender upgrades

Drive it for a while, decide what you want of it, then choose just the improvements that are needed. So my land rover110 is used for a lot of towing, often launching and recovering boats. So it's got Galvanised bulkhead, chassis and doors Stainless exhaust, An LSD in the back axle for...

    Red Diesel

I use lots of red diesel.... In the generator on the motorboat, but the EU has been taking the UK to court on that. I've seen them. Doing fuel checks around here but only when I've been in the petrol car..

    Oh Deer...

Post May 2007 all new bull bars must be EU compliant, and not increase the danger to pedestrians so basically foam rubber fake ones... Unless of course you got a 1984 110 like me. The bull bars on that have grandfather's rights and should deal with most deer..

    Oh Deer...

I've twice here in coastal Norfolk hit deer, both in the wife's car at less than 30mph. Luckily muntjac both times. Because within 100 yards of the same point I've had to hit the brakes to avoid a herd of 5 red deer. We get all sorts of deer in the garden, as we are the first cover from...

    Hi all from Bletchley MK

Nice car welcome to the site, in the mid 1970s I used to live in Bletchley park and Stantonbury in the 1990s. If you have to live in a city ( near enough) it's one of the better ones. Make sure you've got good security though , if you don't want to find the remains of your car in the lakes...

What have you done on your 90/110/130 today?

Thought about fixing tow bar electrics, but then it rained. Who ever fitted them used those cheap crap squeeze on blue connectors. I'm going to solder the wires together and use heat shrink sleaving. So all I did to the 110 today was remove a model railway that was at a show yesterday.

Using a multimeter on a vehicle electrical system

As an example of under rated cable, many years ago, in a barrack block at RAF coltishall, the 16 man rooms had been subdivided into 3 man rooms each with a single socket in the wall so it was common to have a four block extension cable or two. This was of course removed and hidden during...

Using a multimeter on a vehicle electrical system

Having blown the 40amp fuse in a split charge relay unit I'd agree with a flat battery taking more than 40A given the opportunity.. . One of my DMMs has has 6.5 digit resolution and is accurate to +-28ppm is that enough? :)

    Has ANPR been privatised?

Some councils use something similar for overstaying /illegal parking. If you park in an area where you have to type in your number to the machine or have residents parking permits, then anpr reads the number plates checks what you've paid for and a computer prints out the fines..
