Pretty existing design feature I think?

 It was terrible shifting once warm and it took some real force to get the gear lever across the gate to engage different gears, felt like there was no synchro at all on 3rd and 4th where previously they were the good ones  And I have water ingress into my foot well from...

Well the vibration is still there but much reduced  Gearbox was much better and didn't go quite as stiff when warm as last weekend but it was still awful when hot :(

That engine looks nice and shiny, a heck of a lot better than when I first saw it a couple of years ago lolz, it was hanging :) You probably going to have evened out your weight in steel with having gotten rid of all that crud hahaha :D

Had a bit of vibration and knew there was a little bit of play in the slider splines of the front prop, thought I would swap that out and change the transmission fluid while I was in there. The transmission fluid was rancid and an emulsified mess, think I figured out what happened...

Couple of fellas I know have fitted sandwich plates in there and left the valve where it should be, they can only see it present but not whether it functions.

I'm putting off a couple of welding jobs as I just can't face it at the minute. Never the less, I have mechanical things to cause me pain lol :) Good effort on that bulkhead and the inner wing. Really coming along now, just gotta keep you busy on it and encourage you a bit more :D

I'm not really a drinker any more. I used to like a nice long walk in the countryside from spring through summer and doing some groceries in as many towns as I could drive out to. If I was in my caravan and on a farm then I would try and get some rat shooting action and bag a pigeon for the...

10 minute job they said !!!!!!!

Been there and done that more times than I care to remember. My favourite was swapping out a prop shaft, admittedly it was decades ago now but by golly, 10 minutes they said, an hour later with blow torch and duck oil and then spent the rest of the afternoon putting new UJs in it. Just wish I...

    Advice

I used a mini loader to strip the V8 autobox and transfer box out of a Disco in one piece, no, I won't be doing that again, heavy and cumbersome with it all in one piece and that was with the whole body off it. The key problem you will have is trying to get the gear shifts under the tunnel and...

Split them off, yes a bit more work but it's not such a massive cumbersome lump to try and move around.

I've been training too, although mine goes along the lines of training myself to keep my mouth shut and the thoughts in my head or I'll end up unemployed lol :) If I end up working away again, which it looks like I might, then it's going to be a gym membership for me with one of those...

Card, you must have a stash of cereal boxes by now :) I want to swap out the gearbox fluid Sat afternoon before I tramps North, really needs to get my axle oils swapped out but doubt I'll have time.
