    24k service

hi all, just about to put my 2005 td4 in for its 24k service (it's second). Any suggestions on anything special extra that could be checked or done, or should I just let stealers do their usual bit... thanks in advance sadsack

    'Beep-Beep' after unlocking ??

    dying keyfob battery?

    rear central seatbelt.

Well, the seat belt is going to be replaced. I have the sensation for the moment (i.e while the warranty lasts) that I'm funding a fairly profitable relationship between my dealer and the Landrover parts service. In 9 months, they've replaced turbo pipes, airconditioning sensors, battery cables...

    rear central seatbelt.

Think the reverand is right. It just stuck. Oh well, off to my favourite landrover garage tomorrow morning. I'll take advantage of the trip to see if they've got a discovery worth changing the freething for.

    rear central seatbelt.

No ideas? Nobody even hijacking the thread? Slob?

    rear central seatbelt.

Silly problem here but very irritating. A couple of days ago a folded down the rear double seat (2005 td4) to load some stuff and now when I want to lift it, the bloody seat won't come up because the central seat belt seems to have locked. No amount of fiddling, easing, swearing and thumping...

    clutch pedal - clunk

just an update.. clutch fixed under warranty, although according to mechanic, the ****ty little plastic piece that clipped the whole pedel to the plunger had broken because the actual clutch pedal was faulty and had stressed the plastic.... so whole unit changed.....

    changing freelander for discovery?

Hmmmmmm, I'm being pushed even closer to the brink....I'm going to start looking tomorrow, by asking at the dealership that's fixing my latest freelander fault....

    changing freelander for discovery?

Yeah, I'd figure that a series 2 td5 would seem to be the best bet..... just wonder if it's got as many niggles as the freelander td4?

    changing freelander for discovery?

A thought running through my head.... if I were to change my 2005 freelander for a Disco (second hand), which one? The newest model just doesn't convince... too much electronics... want a good vehicle for week-end trips and mountain driving.... any ideas?

    clutch pedal - clunk

OK - found the problem I guess. It's (deep breath, here's where I show NO mechanical knowledge) the "bolt" that joins the clutch pedal to the part going through the bulkhead into the motor or gearbox. Well, what broke is not actually not the "bolt" but the little ****ty plastic press on clip...

    clutch pedal - clunk

Thanks Dave, I'm going to check it out this week-end....

    clutch pedal - clunk

Ho hum. I've just had the same problem. Dave, did you fix it? was it what you thought? Anybody? any ideas?

To buy or not to buy...? :)

Had my 2005 td4 now for just under a year with no real problems (aircon gitch)... best advice is not to read too much on here. Can make you too paranoid to enjoy the great drive a freelander can give you....

    stereo system

cough, cough..... just found it......NOW why would anybody would want to hear more on one side of the car than the other is beyond me??? tail between legs.....off I go

    stereo system

This has ocurred to me (I am capable of being that ignorant). At present I can fade beteen rear and front speakers but have found no control of right to left. Does it exist? Anything's possible, I'm the one who took the car in to complain that the rear demister didn't work only to find out...

    stereo system

Thanks Shotgun..... will check that out and see if it works.

    stereo system

Hi, lurker turning newbie here. A question, my 2005 td4 freelander (original) stereo system speakers aren't working on the driverside. There wouldn't happen to be an easy fix on this, i.e. that could be a common fault? Or will I have to take off all the panelling? Or (miracle) am I missing some...
