What items will transfare over from my 2.5td to 200tdi as the 200tdi doesnt come with alternator, starter or steering pump is the td items a straight swap

Done a search as i plan on doing a 300 tdi conversion in my defender but the engine i have a plug on the throttle so i did another search but couldnt find the answer to what i do with the plug and can i still use that engine or do i need a 300tdi engine loom and ecu?

WHat engine was it? Hope it was the 1.8 20vT from a mk4 golf he was putting in like i did in my caddy.

Mate has a 2" lift kit from a Disco 1 but I have a disco 2 does anybody know if this is a straight swap? I know that I have to change the top cones on the front as the shocks are mounted different but I have D1 cones as well just want to know if there is anything else different before I start...

Well sorted the problem myself after finally getting alook around the engine I realised that the wiring harness had been put in wrong from when the engine had been previously pulled out at some point. So i re routed the wiring the correct way wround the engine and hey presto I now have a temp...

Don't mean to hijack but I recently bought my first defender and noticed that it had no handbrake light, I was actually going to investigate tonight but if it doesnt have wiring and sensor for handbrake isnt that a MOT failure now or no light on the dash?

Both as the light finishers are cracked

Right worked out why my temp guage doesnt work The fact that there is no wire going to the sensor under the bonnet, So does anybody have a picture of the wire which goes to it and pics of where it comes from as they doesnt seem to be a wire in the surrounding area

Does the gearbox on the 90 2.5td have a dipstick? Or am i being a dipstick? Gary
