Althought the dash layout has not changed in many years, I just wondered if all the warning lights are wired up throught the many different models. I have an 88 110 and have not had a warning light come on. Even when in diff lock, I have no indication on the dash. This is the one I really need to work as my 2 year old boy loves playing in the front and trying to change gear like me. I dont always check to see im not in diff lock so a wound up trans box could be iminent! What lights should I expect to work?
Cheers

Not every warning light is connected in every model, but as a minimum would expect:

Handbrake, ignition, oil, indicators, main beam, glowplugs, diff lock, rear fog lamp

Thanks Station House, exactly the answer I was hoping for:). Just the handbrake, oil and diff lock lights to get working then.

though my hand brake light in my 1992 90 doesn't work - there's no wiring from the hand brake nor a sensor there.

I always assumed this meant it was never fitted? Or has a previous owner just removed it?

Not all models have the hand brake one fitted as standard, but they all have the brake fluid warning one

Don't mean to hijack but I recently bought my first defender and noticed that it had no handbrake light, I was actually going to investigate tonight but if it doesnt have wiring and sensor for handbrake isnt that a MOT failure now or no light on the dash?
