    Is it possible to test the DSP amp in any way? If i put an aftermarket head unit in could i expect anything, by doing this it might confirm it is not the head unit?? Any suggestions would be great, thanks all

    Pulling the fuse didn't help at all, disconnected the battery earth for a bit, didn't seem to help- didn't even need to put radio code back in. Is there a sure fire way to check the DSP amp in the boot space, i really can't see it being the head unit as there is nothing from the f/f satnav...

    Thanks for the advice both of you, i pulled the fuse last night and have left it out overnight, will try again this morning, if not a success may try the battery trick, it was all fine day before...................these cars take some loving!! Thanks again

    I did mine last year,a quite simple job.I bought it off ebay, about £80. Came with new 'O' seals and some dyed AC oil in it.     Have you thought about trying a 2 part metal putty, mazel metal/ chemical metal. i used it a few years ago on the wife's car on a metal coolant pipe, it set hard in about 2 mins. you can sand paint etc. the repair i did lasted, and no loss of coolant. Worth a try, far cheaper than new...
