Just some info really for those of you that need to replace your front door locks.
Over the weekend I repaired my front door locks which had burnt out motors. I didnt fancy forking out the 2 x £130 for new locks so I set about trying to find a replacent motor. All searches failed - you can get the same motor but with a shorter shaft but this is not much help. I noticed that on eBay second hand replacement front locks are upwards of £40 however replacement rear locks are often less than a Tenner. I bought 2 for £6 each and the motor is the same as the one used in the front lock. Very easy to remove the motor from one and install it the other. Complete job took about 1 hour per door. Total cost was £17 which is so much better than £260.

Great bit of info! I already see the prices of the rear-ones rising :p
Anyway, does anyone have an idea why would one of the rear motors whirr if operated a few times in quick succession? The whirr sounds like some cogs slipping and for each operation the pitch of the whirr is higher... The lock works OK.

If anyone is interested, I followed this advice and bought a rear lock, however, I managed (on the same day) to get the one I needed anyways, so it's up for sale at £22 posted if anyone wants to do the above?
