Have you checked your seat squab tensioner. On my disco 1 it had split and you get used to it. Bought an updated tension panel from Craddocks i think And what a difference. Lifted up about 4 inches. I also am 5,8 and towed for years without a sore arm. Check it out

Hello Iain, Going very well these days. Had the Disco nearly a year and no problems. Been to the Hebrides for a week earlier and just back from a week in Lairg and points north. Will possibly try with a large drill bit ,but hands not as steady as they used to be.

I had already discounted a Dremel because of the recess. Have new screwdrivers but still not enough of a slot. Using an old screwdriver just to keep scraping what's left of the slot to eventually deepen it enough to get a grip. Not too happy about drilling because of the heat build up...

I'm with Robhew 86. Check the tightness of the cap on the expansion tank. I had similar small loss and after tightening the cap a wee bit the level has not moved in over 5 months. For the cost, even trying a new cap before going into a heavy cost which may not be needed. Worth a try.

Why did landrover not fit a dipstick like the Disco1. Checking the oil level on the Td5 auto is c--p. Practically need two people and torn knuckles etc. Curiosity, has anyone looked at trying to fit a dipstick? Practically same box as Disco 1. Rant over.

update to all. Before stripping down again I ordered trim clips(£3.90 for 10 inc postage) and a trim tool(£1.93 inc postage) both from Amazon. Lucky for me because while on holiday I called in at Pentland Landrover in Cupar to buy some new trimclips. None in stock, just as well as their price...
