    rewire engine loom

Bandit, are you sure Rave hasn't what you need like MHM suggests? There should be an Electrical library with sub sections like Connector; Fuse Details; Earth points and Headers dia's; plus Connector section. Am attaching typical from Connector section. ???????

    New Brakes & Pads

Not that simple neither. The discs are fitted on the rear of the hub, so you have to remove the pads, remove the braking assembly (two torx) making sure you tie them up to support the pipes and then remove the hub. You will require a 52mm box spanner or socket to do this. Once the hub is off...

The Dreaded Head Gasket Issue Newbie

Rover K-Series Damned good article on K series HG - if in doubt, why not get it checked and modded if required? Should give piece of mind especially if the missus is going to be uwing it on longer runs. The cost shouldn't be that much, surely?

    Which Land Rover?

Disco 300tdi for sure! 7 seater with boot seats (ie SE spec) inc. fitted lap belts. Engine pretty well bullet proof if it had regular oil and filter change. Look for recent cam belt change in history. No ecu's to worry about. Make sure you have a good inspection underneath for chassis rust...

    Wandering disco

Sounds like a classic tracking problem - worth having it re-checked just to be sure. Won't cost a bomb. Any sign of scuffing on the front tyre tread edges or too early to tell since the problem appeared?
