Sounds like the Air con drain plugs are blocked . Mine did this during the Summer ( Ha Ha Ha HA ) with soaked drivers carpet for a bit. If the leak is under the gearbox it is most likely the Fuel regulator. This is an easy DIY changeout although hands the size of a Hobbit would help. Search threads on here as I saw a step by step in pics. Good luck

I had a similar intermittent problem on my DEF 300 Tdi which turned out to be a loose wire on the starter from the ignition and at certain rpm the vibration made it cut out. Just pulled the cut out wire off ( which wasnt hard ) and cleaned up the tab with sandpaper and gave the clip a squeeze...

Managed :) 33.5 mpg mostly M-way on Auto TD5 recently driving 60-65 mph with boot half full. This dropped to 29 .5 mpg when boot full and 4 bikes on back on run to continent and back. As paul says accelerate slowly and use cruise also get rid of the EGR. Cheers

I agree with Dan , as you have to follow the correct sequence when filling an Auto box .( Start engine,foot on brake, function gearbox jump out and start puttin some more ATF in til a thin bead runs out then shove plug in and jobs a good un). The gearbox vol in the work shop manual states 9.7...

It may be the glow plugs but put a meter between all of them and check if any are dead ( Seen thread on here before how to check if working), mine was ok , checked and re checked and puffed more smoke than Amy Winehouse for 5 years but no probs ever even on cold winter days.

Currently have and auto disco Td5 ( Great car but no character:D) but may have convinced the wife that we need a 110. Had a 300 Tdi 90 for 5 years:D:D before changing to the disco, so quite happy with a 300 tdi but what do you guys think? Which do we go for? Ciaran666

Did you happen to notice where exactly it came from? As I have heard of plenty of pipes rubbing on the clamp and moving about until a leak develops then eventually emptying the gearbox. The clamp should hold the pipes tight and I check mine regularly. And yes if there is no oil in the Torque...

What indication did you get that all the oil has leaked out of the gearbox? Was a large puddle on show or any lights on the dash illuminated? I need more details although it could be as simple as a cable from the gearlever to the control for the auto box.. Ciaran666
