Not 100% certain, but following hd3's advice and using BP Ultimate (and a diesel conditioner additive), much of the clatter seems to have disappeared. Must have something to do with a British car liking British fuel :D:D:D

yup - there's a lot of play when i push the diff up and down. picking up new front mount from LR tomorrow and will replace. will report back .... thanx

does it make any difference whether the oil or the diesel is added first (assuming an almost empty tank)?
