And remove the filler plugs before you remove the drain incase somethings wrong and you cant refill it too drive it to a mechanic

Its time for my 97 defender to get a new gearbox, I know it needs one because it crunches into 2nd and theres pieces 2-3 mm of steel attached to the magnet drain plug. (baulk ring?) So Ive decided on getting it fitted by Ashcrofts, but should i have a new transfer box fitted at the same time...

mmm I did wonder... wheels will make more revolutions per mile. so mileometer will show as more miles than actually travelled. so per gallon mileometer will show more miles than is correct. Yep I got it the right way round.
