    Handbrake Adjustment (200Tdi)

Thanks guys. The cable is at the end of its adjustment, so I'll order another one. But I've got it to 3 clicks of the handbrake using the drum adjuster, and didn't even need to crawl about on the wet ground (I always forget about the hatch).

    Handbrake Adjustment (200Tdi)

The handbrake on the wifes '93 110 is in need of adjustment, the lever goes all the way up. I've only got a Disco Haynes to hand, but assume the set up is the same? I can't see anything about cable adjustment, is the adjustment all in the shoes?

    Rear Anti Roll Bar Bolts

Does anyone know what size bolts the brackets for the rubber bushes take? Are they hardened / special ones, or will hardware shop ones fit? Thanks in advance.

Defender shaking at 40mph when under load

Do you still get it if you drop the revs and put your foot on the clutch?
  7. edessex

    How do you tell

To the best of my knowledge ALL Defender parts would be metric... Does it have coded springs, lifting blocks, longer shock mounts, longer bump stops, etc?

    Fitting One new tyre?

If you keep the new as a spare, then when the time comes to replace a pair of tyres, you only have to buy one new one. I've heard people recommend replacing all four on Freeloaders, but not for other LRs.

Wiring a Lamp to the Rear Window?

I would, but I genuinely never use the heater!

Wiring a Lamp to the Rear Window?

Bit of a ramdom one here, but in all the years I've been driving I don't think I've ever intentionally turned on the rear screen heater/defroster thing on any car. I have just bought an 18w LED load lamp I want to fit to the back of my vehicle. Rather than run extra cables, fuses and...

Chequer Plating - best way to attach

Both my wife's Landy and my own have bits of chequer plate attached, its rivited with aluminium rivets on both. Mine also did have a bit on the bonnet, but it was held on with sealant, so fell off!

    Long Road Back

Nice work there. Was it Clive on Canvey Island that did that rear crossmember? I had him do my wife's rear end, great job!

    Working on LPGs?

I'm considering buying a vehicle with an LPG system already installed. Apparently it runs/switches as it should. He says its electronic if that makes a difference? But I have never owned/used/maintained an LPG vehicle... Is servicing and repairs a DIY job, or an expensive garage job? How...

What Landy stuff has caused grief to your other half?

Luckily my wife grew up with Landies, her dad had owned a fair few over the years. She's now got her dad's '93 110, and did have a SIII 109 for a while, which we planned to do up. The parts aren't an issue, but the problem I have is mine always break down, usually at night, in the cold, and in...

I think i might have bitten off more than i can chew!

If you do decide to break, I'm after two front door locks, and a boot/door lock, keys don't have to match. Also after a rear propshaft. As much as it's a pity to break, its better to keep others going than just weigh it in at the crusher! ...plus you get more money in parts!

    Third Party only, worth it?

TPO is usually not really worth it... granted there is not usually any excess (other than young driver or any voluntary that you set), but its usually more expensive than TPF&T. TPF&T usually carries a compulsory excess, but if you don't think your vehicle is worth anything then don't claim if...
