Pop rivets are my fall back but would like to use something close to original - seem more sturdy, especially as it will have the spare on the bonnet.

I've bought a bonnet with the frame removed and red oxide primed so need to put it all back together. What size are the original rivets? I think they are 3/16 x 7/16 long - the solid aluminium domed head ones. FFG

Had a quick look but cant see anything similar. I think they are a joint male/female connector and this is probably a 6 way with one way unused. May have to bite the bullet (no pun intended)and use a Mate n Lock or a Tyco connector.

I've got a grey painted grill but it doesn't have the black and white section at the top where the LR logo is. Is the black part a piece of plastic that just sits in the oval and I paint the Land Rover words white? If so can I buy the black section separately? FFG

I used a piece of plastic as the original bit broke off - think it was fibreglass.

Stainless (M6) but also put a spacer in (3 or 4mm should do) so any crap can escape rather than get trapped.

4 star was 98 octane and 5 star 100 octane. Diesel is having a bad time at the minute with a ban on older cars likely but who knows when. Some cities are banning them by 2025.

Have you checked the oil level. It hasn't just been overfilled has it? Long shot but easy to check.

Its a male plug so either fits into a sensor on tyhe engine or into a female somewhere. Need to get the torch out and find out where the brown cable originates.

The charge light works (or it does now as it was intermittent). Alternator is a standard Rover V8 V belt pre serp type (70 amp I think). The connector is a bit fancy but don't look like it was connected as its corroded and I cant see anything it may have connected into. Doubt its to do with...
