can i drive a P38, with the tailgate etc, open?

I'd be more concerned about the exhaust fumes filling the car up-and the sofa will smell like an old exhaust for a bit, don't go too far!!!

    Window Tints

I saw some reality cop show where a lass in a Rangy had to take the window tint film off at the roadside or have a prohibition notice there and then, stopping the Rangy being moved until windows untinted.Seems a bit extreme, but being a biker too I've had my share of sorrymate I didn't see you...

    P38 4.6 on lpg

I feel better now-the sun has come out! If you're getting a new exhaust, get someone else to fit it, the amount of rust that you'll get in your eyes is unreal.

    P38 4.6 on lpg

Typical v8-up to the mark, bit dirty, no sign of mayo. Surprisingly it hardly uses any oil, and the speedo says 120000m. It's whisper quiet, no rattles and really smooth.

    P38 4.6 on lpg

Mine did exactly that after it was converted, but uses about a pint every 1000 miles or so. It's always used about that much, so have my previous 2 rangies. It was the condensation in the oil filler cap along with the smoke that set me away (it is a p38 after all). I think I'm am just paranoid...

    P38 4.6 on lpg

Here comes paranoia. Started Rangy yesterday, HMMM that's a bit smoky-pale blue. It's used the bit of water, no oil as usual. Looked like a bit of condensation in the oil filler cap, not mayo. After 40 odd miles filler cap dry, water ok, still hint of smoke, no overheat, no loss of power. Am I...

Does the P in P38 stand for Paranoia?

Paranoia is fine. I don't sit with the window open tho cos the smell of unburnt fuel make me feel sick! Just enjoy the lovely noise of the V8

    finisher panel removal

Just pull to bloody pipe off and run it, 3 mins max ,if you don't break the connector; including taking the trim off. Don't make it more complicated than it needs to be

Jeez mate, you 2 were lucky to get out of that. What lotto nos are you using next week?

new boy from glos with P38 :)

Can't help feeling you're going to see an osteopath with springs that hard. Reminds me of a hard-tailed chopper (motorbike) I once rode-for half a mile, never again.

    finisher panel removal

You're not thick mate-I wrestled with mine to fit a new blade and then found the f*** on to change it by the book. I ended up pulling the placcy bit back, repositioning the arm and tightening it up. The trim bit you can remove is at the top of the tailgate, it's still a wrestle, be careful of...

    Average MPG for 1995 3.9l

You're looking at about 16-19 mpg on petrol, maybe 14-16 on gas unless you use motorways when you might get up to 23-24 on petrol. If your classic is a single point system it won't get much, if any better on m'ways cos of the way they work. To work out what you're getting as an unleaded...

Disc Brakes, Whats in a name?

Lockheed are good, as are Mintex, Brembo are good but cost a fortune. I'd tend to go for cheapest established name-lockheed at the moment unless someone's doing a deal on OEM.

Pleased you're both OK-as above cars can be replaced. Be positive=you don't need to do the rad or o rings now! You always wanted a different colour anyway. Bet your next one will have the heatshields off and thermal bandages round the pipes (exhaust wrap) and ceramic coatings on the manifolds.

Looks canny mate. Go round the hose clips and tighten them up, you'll be amazed, I always am! I'd get the autobox rad checked if I were you=I'm paranoid about them since I lost drive in an auto years ago and it cost too much!!

Radiator hose split - where on a Sunday

You may be able to get a repair tape type stuff-silicon is your best bet, but it is only temporary. I've a LR indi here in Stanley who's open on a sunday, but it's a long way from Berwick

    finisher panel removal

Is it actually the washer jet? If you take of the plastic trim from the inside (several self tappers) you'll be able to remove the pipe from the back of the jet, operate it for bit and see if that works, it did for me and the window gets a righ good soaking now.

    tyres slashed

They all work work for (insert tyre and wheel supply company here). That's a bastard mate, it could be worse tho, you could have a rangie sport on 22" wheels, those tyres cost a fortune

    Hello!

Good luck mate and welcome. My threepennorth is keep a check on rust underneath along with the other advice. LPG isn't the be-all and end-all, but it does get you into London without congestion charge. If you're using the Rangy for longish runs the fuel isn't that bad, I see 23-24 on petrol and...

    H/K DSP Amp........Anything Compatible?

If you listen to the radio, be careful about buying from abroad, cos there are different waveband settings, for instance my jap re-import radio would only pick up radio 2, cos the search ended there. Have you rang the rangie breakers, such as this site's sponsors? If they haven't one they have...
