The inlet ports only have a small half moon shape cut out on top,but not really nessesary I have fitted efi inlet to non efi heads still worked ok,easy job to do.

If its only don 12k ,engine will be quite fresh, just stick a nitrous kit on it,100 hp at push of a button when you need it,when not using it runs nice smooth and economical ,kits are only about £3-400 new

What you need is to get the live data readings when engine is running,post up the results and can compare with someone else's readings,throttle position sensor voltage,idle control valve,lambda readings etc

You won't have an air leak around knock sensors ,it will be on the intake side of engine after the maf sensor,could b inlet manifold gasket,to check for a leak I would use spray can of brake cleaner and spray around suspect areas while the engine is running,if the revs rise while you are doing...

There are 2 knock sensors ,one on each bank ,just by the starter,crank sensor Is on other side of engine facing towards the gearbox.sounds like it could be an air leak,which will be showing lambdas its running lean which in turn will richen the mixture up to compensate,

Head bolt threads are 7/16-14.when I rebuilt my engine I used elring gaskets and an arp head stud kit,never had any problems,but my block was top hatted at the time

Try putting no1 injector into cylinder 2 an see if the over fuelling fault changes to number 2,were the rest of the injectors tested?which diagnostic machine was it connected to,can't see how live data will show up over fuelling on a certain cylinder,unless its the injector duration.

+1 on jumping th starter motor,to see if it goes,does the solenoid click?as these cause problems ,cheap easy fix.

If injectors are leaking back too much fuel,the code it brings up is low fuel pressure while cranking,try spraying a little wd40 into the air intake at filter while someone is turning it over ,this should get it started,you can test the injectors yourself with a leak test kit,make sure battery...
