    1/4 tank in rangie is around £25 at today prices so, are you parking on a hill or a slope of some, sort rendering ya gauge to read more than you got. also how do you manage to get around on 1/4 tank all week?

    also once you topped up the water, when you start the car you must open the vents and stick the heater on max and hot, this allows the air to flow and will help no end with an airlock.

    you are still buring oil to get the smoke. some must be leaking to the exhaust somehow.if your getting white colour then that could be a coolant problem which could {god forbid} even lead to head gasket. does it run at the right temperture and gauge reading halfway once the stat has opened.

    your blue smoke would be oil that is burning away,as for the rough running a quick fuel filter change will probably help you no end if you havent already done so.

    have a look at range rover heaven on ebay. bloke called alan breaks rangies. he has virtually everything. he is honest and his phone number is listed as well so you can querie any problems before you buy. RECOMMENDED.

    p38 4.6 intermitent overheating...

    also open all the vents inside the car and have the heater on hot and maximum settings this allows heat to flow which will elimante airlocks when you top up the system.

    ive fitted plenty of oil coolers in the past, just be gentle undoing the nuts and dont try to force them. if very tight use wd40.

    was goin to say the same as above. i common fault on 5speed boxs is the selector rod just snaps when it feels like it. had the same problem with the sdi 5 speed and mt75 ford gearbox. can be repaired, but best to gat another box.
