that's not bio then its wvo (waste vegetable oil)/uco (used cooking oil), and if he did not filter it properly then it will cause problems. Too many people think you can pour any old **** in the tank but its not like that, you don't get anything for nothing you have to put some work in to it...

I take it you mean WVO ? bio won't have any bits in it due to the processing

where are you going to get this waste oil from? how will you separate the liquid (if there is any) from the more sloppy/solid stuff. you need to do a lot more research. how are you going to keep the fuel lines warm? everything you are trying to do has been done before, learn from others...

yes it does apply, landrover have called it a cat therefore whatever we think it is or is not, the powers that be think its a cat so it now has to be there if originally fitted, some had it some did not. I suspect there will be de-cat pipes available with a little box welded on the outside...

sorry but that changed in the latest mot update, whether its a cat or a dpf is beside the point, if it left the factory with the down pipe with the little box on it, it will need a little box on the down pipe to pass the mot.

ya that's the little bugger, it is threaded on both sides and is supposed to come apart but the nuts on the pipes rust onto the adapter so badly they are next to impossible to remove, when i finally got mine off some of the thread was damaged and needed a bit of work to clean it up. I was told...

i know your problem, as far as i know you can't get it separately, from what i was told they come with the oil cooler rad. As i was replacing the pipes i just cut them off close to the nut, then i removed the adapter from the rad complete with the pipe end, i could then get the blow torch on it.

you need to read notice 179E on the HMRC web site, gives all the details. basically total up at the end of each month for previous 12 months, total must not be over 2500L, keep records of date and qty used of biofuels (biodiesel, svo,wvo). D2 will run fine on biodiesel, not sure about veg oil.

Don't forget to keep records of how much veg/bio you put in, if you get pulled or a visit you will have to provide your records to show you are not over your 2500L allowance.

its easy now you have got this far, get it out and on the bench so you can give it a good sort out and free up the pin.

check if the diesel is leaking from the bottom of the timing case, if it is its the front seal on the injection pump that's failed

did you ever get to the bottom of your problem?

is it oil or diesel?

i did mine on my own, used an engine host through the drivers window. not an easy job but doable.
