You surprise me. The mirror was taken from a Disco (V8 circa 1998) The plug was taken from the same Disco - and it was wired into the harness - definitely an original part. Mounting is identical to that taken off and auto mirror clipped into place easily. Looks the part. Ian

Mine was the same - and annoying it is! They do illuminate. Its necessary to remove the heater unit. There are clips on each side which must be held in - not easy but possibke (similar to clips that hold in the radio. Once out - the lights ae obvious. Cheers Ian
