Hi All,

I need to get a new remote fob for my disco 2, as my open button is a bit knackered, have soldered to keep it going but the meain stealers want £140 to re-do, does this have to be done at a main dealers as the cost for the part was only about £30 rest was 'labour'

Try one of the independants. I managed to get an air suspension remote programmed and saved a fortune by not going to a main dealer

before i got my nanocom i got a new key cut and coded for £70

Where did you get a key cut & coded for £70??

I am sure many would like to know.

I bought a second hand fob and a new key blank from the bay of evil, had the key cut at the local key shop and the fob re-programmed by an independent LR garage.

Probably cost me about £50 all in. Took a while to get all the bits together but a lot cheaper than a main stealer.

Can you get the old blade out the key fob without destroying it.?

just push the blade down and they pop out

Yes - I just prised the fob apart with a small screwdriver and my thumbnail.
