I fitted one of these last year, just drilled out the spot welds on the old side and fixed the new one with small self tappers, easy job and looks a treat, didn't even bother painting it.

jack up the car on the axle as high as possible letting the wheels hang and see if the hoses will handle it.

do you have a wading plug fitted to the bellhousing?----- if so take it out and see if any oil comes out of the hole (or put a container under the hole overnight) if any oil comes out then you'll have to find where it's coming from,

should be able to re-use all the fixings as they are all under cover, you might want to buy a trim removal tool if you havn't already got one then you can even re-use the headlining retaining clips.

not a particularly difficult job, except when the tro's are rusted to the track rod, then it's off with the track rod and into the vice and maybe out with the blowlamp/releasing fluid/swearwords/plasters, get me drift?
