    Glow plugs

Thanks Nodge, hopefully the harness (LR001303) will sort it. And I hope i can fit it without taking the manifold itself off... ...just a load of other stuff...!!

    Glow plugs

Hi Nodge, Mine is a 2009, so as far as I know there is no relay, only a 60amp fuse which I've checked. Like you say, the code is pretty ambiguous. My indy was unable to interrogate it any further... Do you know any more about said controller? Thank you

    Glow plugs

Back to the point about the additional earth, I've had a look at my father in laws 2011 SD4 and it has an additional earth from the battery down to the starter which looks factory fitted.

    Glow plugs

And annoyingly has not cured the initial rough running issue and is still giving P0380-00 error code. Admitedly I didn't check the new plugs as I couldn't remember where I'd put my multimeter... I've ordered the seperate glow plug wiring loom and will work myself up to going in again before...

What have you done to your Freelander today

Changed the glow plugs on my 09 FL2, 132k miles. What a mission! Luckily when I got to the the plugs, they came out with no problems and I took the opportunity to fit a de-flapped manifold. The flaps in my current one were all present and correct which was reassuring, but thought at that...

    Glow plugs

I've literally replaced mine today. 132k miles and 12 years old, but they might not be the originals of course. I've had it just over 3 years. I had a diagnostic done as it has been running roughly for a few minutes after starting, especially after it had sat for for a few days. The error code...

My Freelander 2 picked up a couple of hours ago

Looks like a nice FL2 you've got yourself there. I think I spy it has a heated front screen too...? If so, that'll be useful come those frosty mornings.

What have you done to your Freelander today

Fitted a new thermostat, the second I've had to fit since owning my FL2. Had to do it in 3 stages to dodge the rain/hail...!!

    Freelander 2 (LR2) Thermostat

Just been out doing the weekly checks and have noticed a weep of coolant from the 'stat housing itself... It's where two parts are joined, the spigot for the top hose and the main body. More annoying as I only replaced it in August 2019. The replacement was a Gates and I now have a Febi one to...

Freelander 2 (LR2) Removing the Swirl Flaps - What's best?

Have now had a proper look at those screws (with glasses on ) and have realised they are 5 pointed torx Nodge, I've already got the 'new' manifold in stock ready... Need to change the glow plugs at the same time as at least one has given up the ghost, so going to be a busy day...

Freelander 2 (LR2) Removing the Swirl Flaps - What's best?

Can anyone tell me what size the torx security bit is for the 4 screws that hold the ally housing to the manifold itself? I bought a set, but none fit...! Thank you

    Just bought 2010 Freelander.

Cambelt is due at 10 years old or 150k miles for TD4, but I think it's less miles for the SD4... Unless it's already been done of course... As previous post, great car. I've had my 2009 TD4 HSE Auto for 3 years and with regular maintainance it has proved reliable. Recently replaced the tailgate...
