    V8 Transplant oil light problems

Is there a port to add a mechanical gauge then as it's pretty tight down there?

Classic Rover V8 oil light problems

Makes sense with the wiring, closed circuit until pressure is made then goes to open circuit to switch light/bulb off. Maybe i will tr and rig something up to test the switch as you suggest.

    V8 Transplant oil light problems

OK then the wiring sounds right so its either a knackered switch or no oil pressure. Is it possible to test the switch? Is there a procedure for priming the pump with jelly? or a way or testing oil pressure. I have no idea what has gone on with the engine in the past but don't want to run it...

Classic Rover V8 oil light problems

I know this isn't a Range Rover but I also know there are some really good engine guys who look at this section as I have a Suffix A and they have been helpful in the past plus the engine is the same :-) The series 3 I recently purchased has a rover V8 transplanted into it and it's been a...

    V8 Transplant oil light problems

The series 3 I recently purchased has a rover V8 transplanted into it and it's been a wiring nightmare as it was never completed by the previous owner. One of my last issues is the oil light will not go out (at all) so I have a few questions. It looks to me that the switch is "closed" on start...

Series 3 Part Numbers help required? Lightweight

Blackburn, It doesn't look the same but as I am having a hardtop on it maybe I should just mount it on the back door anyway as it will save all that weight on the bonnet on the "off chance" I need to look under the bonnet. I think you've pointed me in the right direction as I was blinkered on...

I have listed this in the military part of the forum as well but it doesn't seem to be so well used as this section so I thought I would list it her also as some one may have come across them whilst searching for other parts, Thanks for your reply.

Where to mount electric fuel pump?

I have just bought a lightweight which has an electric fuel pump mounted under the drivers seat and I am thinking of moving it due to the noise. ( A bit like mounting it on a drum!) Has anyone got any recommendations of where to move the pump/return valve & filter to?

Series 3 Vents in bonnet for V8

I have a lightweight which has had a v8 fitted into and although not running yet I have noticed in many picture of series and lightweights with v8 fitted many people have added air vents in what looks like a position to get rid of some "hot air" can I ask are these essential or partially...

    What would you do??

Sell the 110 as you can always convert the 90 to have more seats if required and put it back to a truck cab at a later date (if it's financial choice). However if its really just down to space I would sell the beamer as although it's not worth much it gives you the space plus saves you the tax...

Classic Would it fail an MOT?

Looking at MOT link I think the doors will still have to open but I can remove seats and belts. Especially if the commercial you had still had opening rear doors.

Classic Would it fail an MOT?

If I took out my rear seats, seatbelts and secured my rear doors so they will not open would this fail MOT? I understand that you can buy a discovery "commercial" without rear seats etc? Your thoughts please as I would like to make the room as I never use the rear seats..
