If it ever stops raining I need to look into a number of problems that have recently happened to my doors and soon I will be climbing in through the tailgate (which doesn't lock)
Late 80's classic with Marina type door handles, my problems are as follows:-

1/. Drivers side rear door will now no long open using internal or external handle although locking button goes up and down as normal? How do I get the door open to investigate and any ideas why the handles aren't doing anything?
2/. Drivers side front door only just opens with outside handle as though something is worn and it needs some kind of adjustment?
2a/ Drives side central locking, when I lock with key buttons all go down but more often than not they all pop back up again all most as though they are not making a sensor or something?
3/ Passenger side doors (both) have stopped locking on central locking which I am guessing has something to do with point (2/a)?

I haven't started to investigate yet but any pointers wold be most helpful especially how to get the back door open without destroying door card etc...

2a) Lock actuator rod is maladjusted....causing it to cycle open again!

Going through central locking issues with my 93 classic right now. If the locking works and then unlocks straight away one of the central locking solenoids is not working properly. You know which ones are not on your car ;-)

On my car the solenoids were working but didnt appear to be strong enough. Even though I lube up the door lock and handle there are a lot of rods and pivots inside the doors and mine had all just gummed up. Spray silicon grease fixed it for me, then re setup the solenoid and it is all working again.

have you got parts diagrams for your year of RR?
On my front doors the outer handle has two rods, one for clicking the latch and one for locking the latch.
The inner handle has just one rod which iirc goes to a pivot and then the latch
The inner lock plunger has one rod which goes to a pivot and then a crossbar and links up to the outer handle lock. This was the bit that was gummed up on mine!
The Central locking plunger has one rod that goes to the same pivot as the inner door lock plunger

The rear doors have a similar arrangement but the inner plunger rod is longer for obvious reasons.

In all cases once the mechanism is working correctly the central locking solenoid can be adjusted so that it has enough throw to activate the lock

For a jammed rear door I did see one chap remove the window rubber that sits around the top of the door shell and with a rod and hook was able to undo the latch. not so sure though. Does yours have child locks? that would stop the inside handle working. You should be able to remove the inner door trim without too much bother or damage, only held in with plastic clips and the screws for handle and pull.

Oh and one more thing tailgate courtesy light switch can cause problems with central locking bounce back.

Good luck

Thanks very much chaps, I think it's supposed to stop raining on Saturday so with a bit of luck I should be able to have a look.

I don't have a parts diagram but I am hoping to compare one door with the other assuming I can get the rear door open. This one was most odd as I was having no issues with it and then one day "no joy" at all..
