    Lectronic Nition

I have fitted electronic ignition to my series 3, do I need an uprated coil of some sort or is the standard one OK?

What have you done to your tratter today?

I looked out the window at it.

    Is it worth the money!!??

Sounds a lot of money to me. With a new chassis and bulkhead it would be a major and expensive rebuild.

    Canvas

I don't know, but what about fabric dye, like if you were tie dying a tee shirt? mix up a bucketfull of that and sponge it over your canvas before you waterproof it?

    My Disc Brake Conversion

Very tidy job, would a more modern servo help with the pressure needed on the pedal? Also will you make spacers for the rear wheels to keep both axle widths the same?

how much to pay for a truck cab and tailgate?

The rear of the cab sits on a panel called a cab infill panel, or somthing like that. I just used a piece of 3mm ali sheet cut to suit. I got my cab for £40 on ebay. If you get a proper infill panel be be prepared to pay about £50!

    Series 3 diesel brake servo

Could it just be the MOT tester is not used to old land rovers and is comparingnit against a modern car?

To paint or not to paint?!

I had the same choice when I bought mine, was going to paint it green, but the thought of stripping all the engine bay out just to paint it! I soon came around to blue paint and glad I did keep it now.

what engine fitted new to this

Plenty of places do mail order, just check out the ad's in any land rover magazine. As for the steering they are not exactly precise at the best of times!

    Work in progress....

Looks good and solid. Is it on the road now, they look great in the summer with the canvas off.

    Sealing threads

Hi Ozawoza, you don't need to put anything on the threads, except a smear of grease/copperslip if you want to. A smear of blue hylomar on the mating surfaces would be ok but don't overdo it.

    Hood Sticks and Stuff

I would buy the basics first, if you later decide you need all the gubbins around the door top you can get them then, keep it simple, it works fine. Yes Sam the sharks tooth rails seem expensive for what they are, I got mine on ebay for a reasoable price. but summers coming and everyone will...
