Well, in all fairness you don't need a huge LPG tank, because the mix is only about 25% of the total fuel injected into the cylinders. Compared to an LPG petrol, where more LPG is used than petrol would be, due to the lower octane of LPG, you would probably have quite a bit more range out of gas.

You can use LPG on diesel engines. But whereas on petrol the LPG injection replaces the petrol fuel, in a diesel it is injected as a mix with the diesel fuel. It's not the most reliable form of combustion at this point in time though.
