As the title suggests, really.

Just sold the slitty pick-up. Got about a grand to spend after putting some away for a weekend away and the Chippy Run.

Got my eye on a RRC that has been bobbed, and a 6.5 GMC V8 doosel fitted. Anyone have an idea what these are like as a daily driver? I don't do any real miles.

Opinions/banter/urine extraction:rofl:

The GMC diesels aren't the most reliable engines ever. I think they suffer some quite common internal failures (might be crank, but not sure).

I used one some time ago, was quite a nice drive. Lots of torque right from the go, but if you'd expect it to be quick, or somehow worlds faster/stronger than a TDI, you will likely be not impressed. I used one for towing (with an auto box, naturally) and it performed well and kept speed well on moderate inclines.

Like I said though, don't expect it to be some sort of planet mover, it really isn't. I'd say even a standard TD5 has the edge on it performance wise.

dosent float my boat but it isnt about that so if its what you want and its at a decent price that reflects the condition then do it.

I dont know what RRC's are like with rust etc, best to ask the guys on that section of the forum.

Good luck

Same as Discos really, since they're essentially the same thing.

Sills, inner wings, rear floors. Having been bobtailed though, the latter will have been attended to.

As a side note, the GMC diesel engines are really quite heavy, so will drop the front a bit if on standard load springs.

Spoke to matey earlier on...It's had both sills done and the rear x-member is good apparently.

Had a few RRC's, so know what to look for/ask. It was the engine I was unsure of
