    The securing bolts on the bottom were completely rusted in on mine and so it was more like 30 minutes but, as you say, better then causing accidental damage by trying to sneak in behind it in situ.

    I couldn't find a way to get to the bolts without removing it. I tried loosening it and just pulling it forward an inch or two but I gave up in the end and just lifted it up. Not a big job really, in the end.

    I might have been a bit rash and whilst the radiator was off to get to the thermostat, I might have taken the viscous fan out and conducted the air con fan mod. I'll find out if that works come spring time. I live in the North of Scotland and so I don't think it'll be an issue.

    Sorted this issue lads. The previous owner of this beautiful girl should never be allowed near another Land Rover for as long as he lives! So many things have been bodged and the thermostat was no exception. It had been taken out and bent open with a screwdriver for some reason. So that's fixed...

    Apologies, I thought I did. The ABS ECU had the fault of a sensor short. When checking the BECM stored faults it had one stored as 'ABS Fault'. That's really just it.     Is it possible the manufacturers have used the BECM to piggy back to another ECU and get around some sort of Land Rover coding block? Just spit balling. I'm happy regardless. She is booked in to her MOT on Thursday morning. Just have to change out the drivers door handle and she's good to go.

    I can't say if it's an anomaly in the Hawkeye or not but I cleared the exact same 'historic' fault code in the ABS ECU many times and each time, the ABS and TC light stayed on.     Update lads. All ABS sensors changed out. Brake pedal switch checked and boojied. Two new front calipers. A RAVE bleed. An ABS top up. STILL historic ABS fault code. There is a caution to this tale though. The BECM was holding on to an ABS fault and so every time I cleared the code from the ABS...

    That's going to be my next port of call. No faults present anymore as the tool found and cleared the faults. Would the brake light switch throw a fault? I'm going to maybe bleed the brakes tomorrow as per RAVE. There might be air in the system throwing a fault maybe?

    It was very clear actually, so must have had an update. It threw a rear right ABS sensor fault. Changed the sensor out and the fault cleared. So it doesn't get mixed up with the sides like some others seem to. No fault codes on Traction or on ABS but still have the lights. New thread time methinks.
