I've taken to splitting my small issues in to their own threads. So if anyone searching for a fix looks for one, it might just happen for them. Quick update first. The girl passed her MOT but the fuel spill pipes look to have popped off since (£20 on ebay for a full set on order). Drivers door handle is still unattached but will be sorted in the new year. A leak from the passenger A pillar is still there but I'm waiting for a day of no rain to sort that. Same for the rear quarter window that had its rubber seal removed when the previous owner was locked out!
So. Engine temperature. The dash needle never comes out of the blue during normal driving. Ever. If left to idle, it will move up to the 12 o clock position. The blowers will blow hot air during driving but if the engine isn't 'pushed' then they start blowing cooler air. A few spirites maneuvers then allow for some hot air flow.
I'm looking to change the thermostat in the next couple of weeks and will update. Whilst I'm changing that , I'll be taking the viscous fan out as per Wammers' handy guide. Slowly but surely I'll get there.
