    Drive Flange

Meant to update earlier but better late than never..... Axle is held loosely in the vice to support the land from underneath. Hit with a chisel being careful to avoid the small lip at the base of the stub axle And voila, it's easy enough to prise off after that

    Swivel Ball Kits

Yep, that's the answer. Steering Arm at the top is the early set-up and Steering Arm at the bottom, as mine has, is the later version. thanks Border.....

    Swivel Ball Kits

Hi all, need to replace the 'balls' on my '79 88" project. Haven't dismantled them yet so wondering do I need to order DA3169 (Early) or DA3181 (Late) and how can I tell the difference. Thanks.....

    Spring Colour.....

It took me a bit of effort to order too, I tried a couple of different routes. I'll check emails to see how I finally got through.

    Spring Colour.....

No, not flowers and stuff, trying a dry fit of a set of GB Springs and looking to repair the paint job on the clips/clasps. There was brown sticky tape securing them in transit and the paint just came away when I unpacked them. Anybody know what shade of blue they, rattlecan would be preferable...

    Hub Seal

Thanks Tot, I was watching a You Tube and he pressed it home, only by hand, but well in. I was thinking it didn't look right.....

    Hub Seal

Hi folks, fitting the Hub Oil Seal RTC3510, how far in should it go? I have it just below lip but should I press it further 'till it's against the bearing? Thanks.....

    Tank Repair

I'm hoping to go Tdi, I have all the Turbo bits and got a 300 intercooler, but this is a learning curve for me so I'll adapt as I go along. As to the winch, I'm missing the Drive Dog and the 'guide' that fits to the crossmember so I'll, no doubt, be in touch with you again.....

    Tank Repair

That's an interesting thread Steve, I'll have a further think about the GRP approach. I also have a 200 to fit so I'll read through your 'steps' over the weekend. AND I also have a winch to install.....

    Tank Repair

It looks dirty and grimy inside Lord, I haven't attempted to flush it out yet but I'll check how bad it actually is, a sealer might work.....

    Tank Repair

I like the copper idea Rob, I have an old hot water cylinder that might do the trick. I'll do a sample patch and see how it goes. Maybe get the holes near the drain brazed.....

    Tank Repair

Yep, it's a couple of pin holes near the drain and the other 'uglier' ones to the back. I'll give it a good wire brushing to make sure I've located all the bad spots.....

    Tank Repair

Yep, mine's 88" too. I was reading across a number of 'forums' that some tanks are a nightmare to fit. So Britpart are to be avoided, I'll steer clear of them. Thanks.....

    Tank Repair

Thanks Blackburn, that's a great price. The Ebay link says they don't 'post' to Ireland, which is where I happen to be, but I'll contact them and see what they say. It's a project so I'm just really dismantling things at the moment.....

    Tank Repair

Morning all, 1979 Diesel. I spotted some pin hole leaks in the bottom of the tank but when aggressively wire brushing some more serious ones appeared. So, is it worth trying to repair the 'leaks' and if so whats the best long term option, brazing, mig? The rest of the metal is in fantastic...

    Handbrake Button

    Handbrake Button

I was at it today, cleaning the crud off. Dismantled the whole thing and to my surprise the button screwed off fairly easily. Cleaned and greased everything but when assembled the button is more or less in the same position, it's freer now though. I wonder if it's possible to screw the button on...
