As you will see from browsing the many previous threads on this sort of question, thd TD4 is the pick of the bunch. Early models were plagued with problems, and the petrols were often disasterous, but we've got two diesels and love them both. Cheers blippie

We've got a 2002 TD4 manual on 100,000miles so slowly catching yours up. Your comprehensive insurance will cover the windscreen and the tyre is easily sorted. Makd sure the most worn tyres are on the front. Check the VCU by doing the tippex test. Check the transmission to see of there are any...

These sorts of problems have been covered many times before, so if you do a search you will find plenty of related topics. ABS sensors and brake switch are two likely causes, but have a good search and see what you think.
