hiya guys.

ive been checking to see that my alarm works fully.

on checking it i sat in the car with the alarm on and it didnt go off.

i assumed there was a volumetric sensor fitted in the roof space that is suppose to sense movement inside the car.

is this alarm a thatcham grade 3 please.

as my freelander is a 3 door commercial 2002 is the box omitted, just wished to kindly ask to save me taking down the headlining.

thanks as always

not sure about what thatcham category is. I have the commercial myself and i checked it by leaving the drivers window down, then getting out and locking the doors. I left it for 5 mins or so, then leant in through the drivers window and the alarm went off.

I assume that you are "superlocking" the vehicle using the fob as per the manual.

when you lock the vehicle, do the indicators flash 3 times, then the red dash light start flashing fast for 10 secs, then slows down ?

if ya lock when in motor it wont arm, but will lock [child and animal safety system] so best test is Blippies :)

thanks so much guys, will check it out, its that i couldnt get it to go off, but now know i was sitting inside,, dddoooooooohhhhhh

thanks

Another way to test it is to lock it with the key fob and then grab the roof bars and shake the car vigorously. This always sets mine off. Also, the roof bars may look flimsy but they're surprisingly strong. Just don't do it when the neighbours are looking or they may think you've got a screw loose.
