Someone says to you something like....

The crank must be rumbling like a orphan belly. :D:D

And now all you can do is feel every rumble, shimmy, vibration, squeak, smell, odd noise and panic!!!!

Driving to work this morning, I thought whats that vibration (panicing that Wammers is right...) then I realised I had the bass level on the stereo up quite high and it was vibrating the chair!! turn stereo down all is well, turn it up and I get a bum massage!

Now all I keep doing is panicking each time the thing wobbles! Cheers Tony!! :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

Get shot while it's running before you end up with a full engine rebuild.
No fun in that Keith!!

The P38 is very rough round the edges, trim is looking past its best, it has done 178k miles, and I will no doubt be its last owner as it is worth next to sod all, and considering I paid near to sod all for it, I am happy to just keep plugging away at it, I don't care it looks a bit rough, just aslong as the running gear keeps going....so I'll look to change the Mains and Ends and go from there!

Spirit of adventure and all that!

I would be planning a change of crank bearings very much sooner rather than later, otherwise you will be removing an engine.

I was like that when I first got the 322, but now I'm not so bothered TBH, if it breaks it breaks, then I'll have to fix it !! :D

Trouble is Ant, it is not going to keep running for long with bearings like that and the longer you leave it the worse will be the damage to the crank.

+1 it will not heal up, drive it to work, get a lift home, use the Fiat , strip it down and get new bearings before you feck it up completely.:)

imo id just run it in the ground cut it up & buy another;)you can pick em up anywhere cheap tbh

Bloody hell there must be some crap P38s about, thank goodness mine is no trouble at all the vast majority of the time. There is a magic word to learn here it,s, "Maintenance"

buying right is king...

maybe we should look to what is available and look to change for the same ish money as doing your work. give yourself an hrlyb rate and see if you are a busy fool??

I mean this in the best possible way.

you know you WERE a range rover driver when you see them about and instantly want another one, you find a few on eBay and get all misty eyed, then wisdom kicks in and you go back to looking for something you just put fuel in and drive..
