Any chance a southern softie can tag along, im on holiday in Ebberston at that time and will need to get away from all the sight seeing. Done plenty of laning, dont mind helping if you have a route planned, will have a spare seat in the fender if anyone wants to jump in and follow the route. I have MM on Ipad if it helps. Only be able to do one day.

A few lanes in the Dales ...

Been doing some checking and a bit of extra research, and whilst there's been a few TRO's added since I last went, a lot of good lanes still remain!

So, these are the lanes I have on the map .. I've not driven them all, but I have driven most of them at least twice (mostly each direction) some of them never! Any marked in red/pink are what I know to be definitely TRO'd or otherwise off-limits, but that's not to say all the others are freely available to drive either .. though most will be .. ;)

There are some that are dead ends and you need to turn round and back-track or reverse, but on the whole some of these are worth it for views or for the technicality or gnarliness of the track!

I will send the actual lanes in Memory Map Overlay format (*.mmo) as separate tracks so someone will need to put a route together to take them in coherently .. which is often the hard part! If anyone wants to do this I'll help as best I can, I will put a route together, but it'll be based on a few years memory and _will_ need someone to check it beforehand for aftual ground conditions and suitability .. I do know a couple or three of the routes are very poorly marked and not often driven so can be hard to see on the ground, basic map reading/compass work might be needed to drive them legally. I doubt I'll be able to recce anything unless someone takes me!

Any questions, feckorff .. Nah, not really, ask away, if I can answer reasonably I will .. ;)

Thank you, let me know if you can come I will add you to the list :D

LOL, I need to get out more, but I have spent tonight matching Pauls map to the trailwise site and the NYCC map and trying to come up with a rough route

So far I have got it to Hawes with a lot of zigzag diversions to take in rock steps and fords :D :D

Now I dont know whether to turn right towards Leyburn and back through the Pateley Bridge area or left and come back through Ribblehead and Ingleton.

There appear to be more open lanes by turning right.

Dont worry folks I wont be deciding the final routes, just practicing :D :D

I didn't realise how hard it is
