it’s just having been bitten and managed to b*gger up two differentials, I wondered whether it might be the ‘safer’ long-term option…

That said, my old lady has done 207,000 miles (replacement engine @ 147,000) and is only just starting to keel over !
@tomcat59alan did you mean it’s easier to replace the whole box or it’s easier to just replace the VC ?

It's an awkward bastid to change ,I've done it on my own with no jack( many years ago pre strokes) if you're getting a garage to do it shouldn't be a problem. It weighs 112lb in old money and is an awkward shape.
