Well origionally i started looking at jeep cherokees as i was fed up not being able to get up and down my road as its on a slight incline and i thought theye were one of the better looking jeeps, but they have alot of problems, so when a discovery came up for £600 with T&T i went to have a look and bought it on the spot, i didnt really know anything about land rovers but now i wouldnt swap it for anything, ive had it a year or so and just rebuilt it due to the dreaded rust but got it done lol. Ive since done quite a bit of offroading and added a winch bumper and winch, and a steering guard just the other day they are such capable vehicles on and off road and i dont know why everybody hasnt got one lol

i got a dodgy leg cant drive my sereis oh poo saw the disco with 4 speed auto box and it really has grown on me

I bought a Discovery as I wanted to give offroading a go, got two of the bloody things aswell now although ones for sale!

Dont think I could be without one now though to be honest, great for just about everything you could ask from it:

Towing
Lugging crap about
Family motor
Massive road presence!

Really love the one I have at the moment, intend to keep changing bits and bobs to get it how I want it but dont see myself getting shot of it anytime soon.

Also, the aftermarket side of things is great, as is the way its just bolted together so even for people with little mechanical experience its easy to repair.

The whole LR community is great, always getting flashes/waves.

Cheap bits always available off the shelf too!

Always wanted a 4x4 and it came up for what I thought was a reasonable price at the time.Wrong!
Didn't realise I needed bottomless pockets until my MOT man told me.
I also liked Meccano toys when I was a kid,and now got a big one. It also keeps up my welding skill.:D

Cos I can travel 1000 miles in 2 days in air conditioned, musically pleasured comfort and do 800 miles off road (rocks, challenge hills, dry river runs, dunes, drag races) in 36 degree heat with a return journey of equal ease. Completely standard vehicle with new Grabber AT's stood up to a tricked up D1 and 110 but and the addition of being able to listen to the radio above 55mph and not losing 2lbs of sweat every day. She's got a few scratches, aches and pains but I haven't stopped smiling since the day she came to live with me.

Yeah I agree with the V8 man, I find myself wondering why anyone has anything else! :D

Ha ha me, my missus, and our 23 year old daughter, all work at asda and on certain days of the week we all work the same hours but in different dept's, anyway one day last week the missus was driving and whilst menovering out of the parking spot in our very tight car park my daughter pipes up how embarest she was being in the disco whilst everyone ells was getting into euro trash cars which inc bosses and colleages all coming out of work at the same time and jumping into there cars, then all of a sudden there was a loud bang and we came to a stop, the missus had accidently backed into a pillar that holds part of the twisty roads that leads into and out of the multi story car park that is directly over our car park, course we get out of the car and everyone ells that saw it and hered it all ran over to see what had happend.

it sounded worse as the car park is covered over with the multi story car park above, but there was no damage done to the disco and i turned to my daughter and said thats why we have a disco and everyone ells comented on how the impact didn't damage the disco and said if that was any of there cars doing that there would have been alot more damage done.

thats why i have a LAND ROVER :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

so basically you bought a disco cos your missus cant drive :p

God knows. If I put all the stuff I had to buy on the floor you would tell it was a landrover. But hope to have fun and sore knuckles when I put it together. lol

I'd had mine 2 weeks, after 2 months of looking for the perfect one.

Cruising on the way home, looking out of the window, didn't see the transit stopped in front of me, SMASH. Hit it a good 50mph. Thought **** written that off then wtf, first accident in 6-7 years. Bent my bull bar, cracked headlight, cracked grill. No structural damage, no body panel damage, drove it the 20 miles home. Transit had no dent either, just punted him down the road.

Was very pleased I was driving a disco that day. My old car (rav4) would have been in pieces and written off for sure.

Because I wanted to go green laning, scuffling, decent tow vehicle, have the pleasure of pushing people out my way, being constantly skint, and a work horse I could play in. Plus I need something to drag my Mk3 Astra GSi when it's built all over the country.

Looking forward to loads of muddy fun in it tho :)

Was about to move house and needed something to help out carrying stuff.Ended up moving everything in the disco not a removal van in sight.

Bought it cos i needed a 7 seater and my mate was selling his due to getting a Hilux as a company bus. Wouldn't be without it though, just had new rear shocks and brakes, and fixed oil leak due to some previous muppet not bothering to seal the sump when they put it back together.......
