They are significantly more prone to liner problems but not every block will develops it particularly those with lambda sensors and or LPG
no not all but all are at risk ,200 thou taken off aluminum bore greatly weakens block and makes it prone to crack ,we had big problem wwith fitting 3.9s into defenders in early 90s after boring liners out found cracks in ali bore and ali wall thickness the same as 3.5 ,lr swore was different casting and had thicker wall and issue was porosity ,if i wanted to win one race build a 4.6 if needed long term 3.5

So what you are saying is that you agree with me lol

if your building a one race engine then the bigger bore sizes are better , if you need it to last in a road/offroad car then 3.5 is best all the way is what he is saying poah.

becuase they weaknd the block by over boring the 94mm bore and bigger engines have too many problems.

so he doesnt agree with you I am afraid, I know cos we were just talkin about it.

he is agreeing because he said they are more prone which is what I said - unless I'm actually completely reading the reply wrongly

I'm not saying they don't get problems but you are taring all the 94mm bores with your stick which ain't true.

nah, is true, not every single unit but most will have hgf, liner, block problems at some point.

wheras a minority of 3.5 will in comparison so for a vehicle which is used more than once for a race its best to stick with a 3.5 and just make it the best 3.5 you can.

poah, you can do what you like of course, its your time and money. just saying that 3.5 is more reliable although far from the perfect engine in the grand scheme of things.

also that if you going to throw thousands of pounds and hours at making a rv8 go and be reliable (if its possible) then it may well be better spent on making another v8 fit in- in more or less standard form

Agree - I have spent a lot trying for 300BHP, on a N/A 4.3... ...I could of spent half and gone for a LS3, and been less of a head ache....

less than getting horsepower and reliablity out of a rv8, thats what we are saying

its like a lot of things if you have the balls to start big it will pay off in the long run, start small and spend a fortune to get not much out of a rv8. sounds like pornstarmax has been there done that, I would ask him

Granted. Just don't have the skills or space to try something like that!!

If I had the space I'd give it a go!

it also depends what you use your truck for because you dont need silly hp for normal landy use
