OK I give UP !!! LOL

i feel like giving up haha, question can i use a nut from the front prop to replace the rear prop while im waiting for a new nut! also this forum needs a chat area haha

Yes, unless some idiot has changed the bolts and nuts, then they are all the same thread 3/8 UNF.

Cheers

rear prop back on front prop off and some what results i'll leave them here to see what you guru's have to say on it :)

not as much knock with the rear prop on as there was with the front.
the knock can be created by....
pressing the clutch, releasing the clutch, putting any normal amount of power down or taking the power off!
basically if i give or take power in any way it knocks.
moving the front diff flange it does feel like theres a bit of slack going on somewhere.
cant feel anything out of the ordinary on transfer box flange no play spinning free when brakes/locks/gears are all off/neutral.

any ideas im happy to be told what/where/how to check lol and i apologies in advance for my dumb a$$ moments haha

What are the drive flanges like? Any signs of wear?
not too sure but i'll try get the wheels off and have a look tomorrow if weather isnt too bad.

silly question but even though the front prop is off (new nuts and bolts in post for that) if the half shafts or diff had play in it would it still knock and could it actually sound a little worse with the prop off due to it not having other parts to limit movement!

could be diff, or could be 1/2 shaft's worth taking shafts out and checking the splines, fair bit of backlash in there though, most likely splines, as they are driven by the road wheels with prop removed can still clunk

would i be correct in thinking either way something aint happy there and it might be worth looking for a 2nd hand full axle!

no props 2nd gear lifting the clutch creates my clunk. (all gears will do it but 1st was a little quieter on the cam and 3rd well why go higher than needed lol)

my handbrake drum with no props attached
