Not today, sunday. Took my series out for a little drive, fuel gauge isn't working so a little apprehensive.

Managed to force one of the vents open that the previous owner had painted shut. The driver side vent has been siliconed shut and will take some work and new seals.

Passenger side opened with a little force but has issues closing. I guess i'll replace both sides.

Checked & added 1/2 liter of water. I'm Passenger today. On family outings in France
89 miles Wednesday
35miles & beach today
More miles tommorow

Got the air con recharged , thought I’d go for a little drive. On my way home doing 60mph front prop shaft failed at the cv joint , sounded like a nutter under the car hitting it with hammers. Damage to underside bodywork transmission sump leaking, And because I broke down on dual carriageway bridge, police instigated breakdown removal, even though I’d already called the AA . Fee £200 what a crap day.

Another day another few hours tinkering with the wiring this time with out my cat Keith

Before I attacked the wiring with heat shrink

After words a lot neater than what the previous owner left it

Then moved on to hiding this away not sure what I does but I didn’t like the idea of it being so exposed to water and mud so bought a outside junction box to hide it away in.

Looks a lot smarter after abit of tinkering and fiddling with and it’s done and hidden away

Got lucky when mine failed - was pulling away and got to 30mph before it let go. Chassis rails dented but otherwise very lucky, I feel your pain.

Finally got all the LED lights working. Had a dodgy connection that required cutting the connector out and fitting my own. Slightly slowed down by somehow blowing the fuse - that set me back an hour of head scratching.

Nothing done to any landy today.
Collected our dogs in in the L200.comfy seats & air con is not every thing in life

Trying to make space at work for bulkhead/door replacement around September.
Plan early

Considered greasing my props, draining coolant and refilling (because i còcked up the quantity that came out after rad replacement and topped up with half and half mix, only to realise it would only take 5l , so the rest is tap from when I stuck the hose in to wash it out), but bumped into my brother who's been traveling Europe for 8 months before work commenced, so we had coffee and eggs and a chinwag that lasted most of the day! Better luck tomorrow! Also might put my all terrains back on because the tyre howl from the stt pros is getting on my wick!

Off to Wales again yesterday, with a detour up to Ollerton on the way, so as to pick up my friend, and on the way back so as to return him to the bosom of his family.

On the way home the A46 was shut so I was diverted off towards Melton Mowbray - you can see the kink in the route. A fine warm day so lots of driving with my elbow sticking out of the window.

I did a coolant renewal, changed gearbox oil, and greased front prop, also put at's back on for the summer!

Christ, the gearbox oil was very discoloured which I was surprised at as I didn't change it long ago, also alot of swarf on the magnet! Nice to put a load of bright red clean oil back in, changes much nicer now, going to start doing mainbox everytime I do the engine oil from now on!

I should add I've got to take my newish rear prop off and replace the grease nipples for the uj's, bloody annoying as the front prop is original and all grease up perfect everytime! Ah well!
