Went and did 37 miles laning around Hampshire with Sniffs & Fredbloggs52. One new lane, one VERY scratchy lane and thanks to mrs Sniffs for caaaaake :)

Stripped and rebuilt her wiper motor as it wouldn't stop and wouldn't park!

The culprit was a missing circlip from the end of the crank wheel shaft.

Of course I didn't have one, so a replacement was fabricated out of a 3/8" washer with a slot cut into it, which allowed me to squeeze it into the circlip recess without distorting the washer flats!

Sometimes I think that I am an FN genius! ;););)

I'd say you were an FN insomniac. It's not even half eight. I've only just got my lazy ass out of bed and boiled the kettle. [emoji21]

It's been full sunny daylight here since before 05:00, and it's going to precipitate it down next weekend, so I just make the most of what I've got, when I've got it :D:D

Started cutting great swathes out of the replacement bulkhead, As I'm awaiting delivery of me noo rear crossmember. Forgot to take camera so no pics today..

Rebent the front window regulators will have to last until new ones get delivered. Sorted central locking out. Pulled the rear door out so she opens and closes easier. Stumped by the rear windows refusing to budge though. Will have to wait until next weekend

Mine passed its mot. The emissions limit is 3.00 and my average of 4 accelerations was 0.35 so quite chuffed with that

Even though mine passed the MOT, with one advisory on the rusty brake disc on near side..> Happy... I went back to the garage to query fixing another vehicle.... and the chap says "Oh one thing on your defender, the light has popped out of the bracket on the passenger side (main headlight)" thanks I said. SO I get back and its rattling loose... and its so as 2 brackets are sheared so its pretty much knackered.

It annoys me as I spent the weekend gluing temp fixing and if we had gone abroad with it as we had planned I could have been lynched by the police... Its a good garage normally and I would be happy if he had just stck it as an advisory but REALLY... nothing at all just scares me.....

Had that sort of thing with my lowered cavalier. I knew I had caught the plastic plug in the floor pan but hadn't noticed it had rotted around it aswell. Yet the last few mots it hadn't been picked up. A previous mot year had seen it go through fine then I found the wishbone bushes were near none existant and a wheel bearing was dead only a week later. Nice to know that all testers at least tell you about problems even if they do pass it. I don't tend to have the same garage test my cars either as it sometimes creaps up on me so its done by whoever has the slot needed

I do use the same garage every year for my MoT tests, have done since Pontius was a trainee pilot.
Even when the vehicle passes with no advisories I make a point of asking if there was anything else of which I should be aware. It can save a whole load of time, trouble and expense at a later date.
