Yippee, sorted clutch out last week and took it for a MOT today and it passed :) only advisorys want new brake pads all round, get them done this week then on Sunday [1st] will be out and about.

Oh no! Hope it's not too bad.
So do I as I don't have any gas bottles due to BOC revoking my permit because I now live in a 'confined residential area', My MIG is up in Scotland, and I don't think I'll ever see that again, and my TIG/MMA seems to have disappeared along with all my spares!

I don't suppose I could solder up the holes ;););):eek:l:eek:

Wish I could afford a replacement chassis, but at almost £2k including essential replacements, plus finding somewhere to do the change over, I think that that option is now out of the window! :(:(

Just ordered me a new injector harness ...gonna DIY it as if looks a fairly straightforward job ...an if not I'll be blaming DTd5 ..:D

seriously, tig a rusty chassis

lead load it instead :D

mig or mma down ere if you want a weekend at it in the shop for diy purposes.
be a few weeks away as its full at moment.

Picked up the disco from MOT...

New front wheel bearing and track rod end, new rear discs and pads, both new front to back brake pipes, headlight secured and aligned, welding on rear seatbelt mounts and rear arches and sills, adjusted handbrake, rear exhaust. And a new bulb.

Mechanic described my chassis as 'mint' and the boot floor as still being there!

Total cost £688 incl MOT. Not too bad i think-considering one garage quoted me £600 just for welding!

Finished painting the front axle, just have to rebuild it and then start the caliper rebuild
And ordered my new chassis from Richards 6-8 weeks wait :5bbanghead:

Yep that's the waiting time from Richards as I found out.
I asked 'em if there was anyway I could get one quicker.
Looked on computer and said
"yep we've got a 200 chassis in stock"
Collected it about 10 days later.
Basically they sold me someone else's chassis as they wasn't picking it up for a while.
Worked great for me as I didn't want to wait that long.
so worth ringing and asking if you're in a rush.

Started sourcing 2.5mm or 3mm steel sheet offcuts

Have already been offered some 10mm plate  :D:D
deano's just fabricated his 90 x member out of a lump of 12mm that he "aquired"
i'll try and grab a couple of sneaky pics

ya dont have any contacts for citoarc plasma cutter parts by any chance?
i need a new electrode, tip, and an as yet unidentifiable part that goes in the middle of the headset.
it sneezed again, and blew the tip to bits, causing a bit of collateral damage:doh:

Not that worried as im away again in five weeks time,
plus it will give me time to get the engine painted etc
and read up how to change the belt and other bits
the axles etc have all been done
love the rustoleum stuff, looks great

Have you tried Welding Equipment and Cutting Services (01142 42 42 42)

They should be able to help you out.

Citoarc is an Oerlikon brand innit?

Had a right laugh .. ;)

Took a load of only 6 pallets, Heavy Duty, very heavy weight in a very lightweight trailer from school to a friends allotment, where he chops 'em up to use in his woodburning stove.

Why laugh? Well, if you've heard the phrase 'tail wagging the dog' .. the drive was so funny, first awkward bit were speed bumps just outside school and for about 500 yards .. the trailer, when empty, usually jumps a little with both wheels off the floor .. it certainly didn't this trip. Next one was the roundabout up the road, onto the ring road .. a puddle of diesel spilled by a bus was just about to be mopped up, too late to help me .. trailer sideways .. if it had rolled it wouldn't have been so funny, but it didn't and actually drifted to the outside and was very close to taking out some poor bugger on the outside!

So I steadied down a bit, negotiated the ringroad and North Bridge and got to the last roundabout at Woodlands, to spin round it, come back up the dual ring road and enter the allotments .. Heheheh, traffic was pretty dense, nobody seemed to like me going very slowly round the roundabout and I actually got beeped at when I indicated and slowed down to enter the allotments, cue more laughter .. ;)

Dropped 'em off, had a tour of the allotment, feckin' massive as it goes, and on the way home with an empty trailer decided to hoon it a bit, well, as hooning goes it wasn't particularly fast but the trailer did fly a couple of times ..

So much fun from such a normally mundane journey .. though I guess you had to be there .. :)

Some more next week .. ;)

Found out me sliders haven't been posted back to me yet after powdercoating  driving to get them tomorrow lunch time so I can have them fitted in time for the laning!

aye, its oerlikon. could do with an exploded diagram with part numbers.
apparently the unidentified bit may be a diffuser.
tip is a 0408-2385 1.6 (1.6 is the diameter of hole. beleive you can get a 1.2 and a 1.0)
electrode is a ZR0408-2501
machine is a citoarc AP25-2

i'll ring the welding and cutting services. where abouts are they?

cheers to both of ya!
