Replaced clutch slave, removed clutch pedal assy in order to change master cylinder, got the replacement engine block out of the car ready to be built up - coated every smooth surface I can get to in used engine oil to stop it rusting in the mean time.
 
Popped into Bearmachs on tha way ome as I is workin just down the street from them.

Came out wiv some luvly bright blue silicone hosiery and some front mudflaps minus brackets so they wuv only three an half nicker. Bargin at under 60 notes fer all of it - and best of all no ****part in sight!!

SWMBO didn't even raise an eyebrow - I guess she is conditioned to me 'popping' in to Bearmachs when I'm workin down that neck of tha woods!
 
fitted a new water pump and changed the p gasket, discovered the tensioner was held on with a dodgy helicoil, stripped it and now running on a wing and a prayer until i can sort it but at least the landy no longer bleeds to death over night every night now.
 
Took me door off, and later removed the two bolts that were holding the floor in:rolleyes::)

Need to cut outrigger off and replace, and repair the bulkhead:rolleyes:

Today I have mostly had a good/bad/good day....

First I had Yogi on the ramps to adjust the handbrake and grease the necessary bits under the vehicle... Good....

Reversed of the ramps and heard a clunk... bugger... quick fettle and a poke and it appears that the nearside rear shock has given up the ghost... not too good but easy enough to sort when I get the replacements. While the wheel was off for me to have a look I remembered to spray the nuts for the shocks with some penetrating fluid so is hopefully going to be easier when I do replace them.

I then managed to fit my CB radio into the map pocket... slightly shonky on the install as I managed to cut more of the headlining out than I needed but hey ho, it fits and it works!... which is good!
 
Replaced the gear box, bit gutting as the original box was so smooth, zero play in any bearings. Output shaft looked like new but reverse had decided to vacate so needs must. What a bugger of a job, drove it home tonight and all seems well, just need to bolt the floor pans in tomorrow and check I connected the speedo up. Whilst transfer box was off discovered some shiny metalic pieces around the input, looked like phosphor bronze?
 
Replaced the stat (and found that the old one didn't have a relief hole in it) and tightened up the spade connector onto the temp sensor.

Lost almost half a pint of coolant during the change ;) ;)

Ordered a replacement reversing light as I somehow managed to break the lens ... no idea how! :(
 
Washed it , waxed it , wasted some Autoglym resin polish on it , fast glass too blah blah , all ready to go scratchy laning on Saturday lol.
 
Removed the fuel tank from the LSE .Every nut n bolt put up a good fight !
tommorow try to find some pipe to replace the multi spraying petrol pipe that
I/we [ wife ] removed . I hate rusty fittings .:mad:
