Just decided how much better my 200tdi is compared to a TD5. My dad had a TD5 discovery to fix that kept stalling and not re-starting. RAC fella told my dads mate that it was the tank fuel pump. £270 of genuine pump later, still the same, and no fault codes showing up. Wouldn't trust a TD5 as far as I could throw it.
My dad and I are going to a motorbike show this weekend, 200miles round trip, I can rely on my 200tdi getting us there, but wouldn't trust a TD5 after that.

didnt look like this, did it?

My bloody Fooking clutch has gone again.

First the slave went, so replaced both and it was working nicely.

Couple of weeks later (last night) i came of the motorway and it was slipping if i put my foot down, then the clutch pedal went completely solid and so i had to changed gear without to get it home.

Slipping clutch sounds like a worn friction plate, or oil or something on the plate. Anyone have any ideas what might have caused it to jam up completely? It was juddering when i pulled away in first which also says worn or contaminated plate I think.

More bloody expense, last thing one needs right now :frusty::mil6:

sounds like the thrust bearing's collapsed and wedged its self in the pressure plate

ooo okay so that comes with most kits. Ok then, thats good news if it is that.

Dont suppose you know if there are any oil seals around that area that might leak and cause the plate to become dirty?

Thanks for your help though :)

front seal on gearbox or rear on engine, thats it really

you can buy bearing by itself if needed

No idea the mileage the plate has done, it feels quite high on the bite point so I may as well replace both.

Ok, think its worth replacing those, or just waiting to see if they are leaking or not. Bit of a pickle because it will remain at the garage while parts come if they are broken.

But this has been very helpful cheers :)
