I went out to refit my footwells etc but I was on night shifts last night and only got as far as tidying my tools before I ran out of steam and just sat in the sun. Maybe tomorrow!

Checked the heater matrix and flushed it out. All looked clean. Then drained the whole system out and refilled it with new anti freeze. Refilled the system with the Defender parked up on ramps in order to chase any air bubbles out. I have already recently changed the thermostat for an 88 degree one so hopefully it should be warmer in the winter.

Bugger all but did fiddle with my landlords. Got his clutch semi working. It still needs a new head gasket, exhaust gasket, coolant replace, brake flush, clutch, battery, oil and breather pipe relocated.

Technically did most of the work yesterday but finished the rest of it today ... and replaced the fuses I blew when fettling in the dark last night!
I replaced me old, slightly dodgy, laptop shelf with a new 'bracket' thing ...
School were throwing out old projectors and stands, so I purloined a few parts and made a laptop holder up. Rough and ready but way better than previous .. ;)

Old setup ...

It now means Juliet has the grab rail available at all times, the laptop doesn't get in her way when in use or when removed, and it's a lot easier for me to use on the move as I don't have to stretch across the cabin now!

It also allows the front seat to fold forwards to allow kids (whoever) into the back seats, and doesn't look like a total Heath Robinson setup! ;)

At the same time, 'cos I had the centre console out, I added some waterproof grease to the Hi-Lo CDL area to try and keep it healthy, though it was remarkably clean considering I haven't looked at it for 2 years or so! Also tightened the handbrake cable, a sore point with Juliet on the last Dales recce as she was gate bitch and the Disco kept rolling away from her, or into her!! :)

Now off out again to clean the swarf up .. don't mind dirt and dust, but swarf might hurt someone .. ;)

Thankfully that'll never happen!
I wanted something newer with horse box towing capacity and to be totally honest I fancied trying something different car wise.
It'll perhaps only be a brief Japanese flirtation as I'd like to be back in a Land Rover one day, it'll just be when I can find exactly what I want at 'sensible' money ;)

You just missed out on mine I have soled it
