just changed an inner tube, subborn damn thing, only taken me an hour, next time will be quicker :)
am going to need some better tyre irons for changing a tyre tho :)

Got underneath the Defender today and checked out the exhaust system. The tail pipe is buggered but the rest seems in good nick so ordered a tail end section from Paddocks together with a new 88 degree thermostat and a new sender unit. When the weather gets better I want to sort out this heating problem or lack of heat I should say. Looks like you have to drill out the rivets to get to the heater matrix. I will wait till my stuff arrives then see what else I can bugger up whilst my hands are dirty. Something had to go, its been running very well for the last six months or so.

Bought it a pressie

10L of 10/40 semi-synthetic
5L of EP90 GL4
3L of MTF 94

35 squids the lot - fookin bargain or what? :D

Oil/filter change, sump gasket... There wasnt one!! :-/ there is now.
Checked sparks. Put back, started it....
Gas ran out.... Petrol.. Aah, I remember, the zenith was playing up on petrol, whipped it off, sprayed with carb cleaner, left it, fitted old webber that I remember was a bitch when I changed engine, yep, still a bitch... Aah, what about that older zenith that has been sitting in the corner for ages untouched, looking sorry for itself? Slightly scorched on one side from a fire maybe...
Started first time, and growled... Wondered why my mph was going down and down recently... Lucky I kept the battered old zenith... Dark and rainy again now... Time to stop.

Also sorted the door tops finally while the oil drained out., no gaps, at least in the passenger side, anyway.. :-/ driver side could fit a breadstick in perhaps...

It doesn't look symmetrical in that pic for some reason, think its cos of the colour difference on the eyes and sloped bench but it is actually

Looks a hell of a lot better now its red-ox'd and semi top coated

The stone on the wall gives that illusion
