carried on with the cage fit, drilled n bolted the main hoop to the body mounts on the station wagon then thought 'stuff it' got out the welder n welded it to the mounts... won't shift now and can be removed just as easily by unbolting the inner station wagon mounts........

then repaired the sill channel and hammerited all over and waxoyld inside the b post

getting ever closer :)

Managed to source a free rear crossmember:)

Its off a series two but I'm sure it'll weld to me Defender, that'll upset the rivet counters:eek:

had to get and fit lift pump today , unfortunatly couldnt wait for online order as broke down . whilst I get on with and find one of our sponsors teams I did feel mugged with the price of £30 inc vat for lift pump (delfi) but as said I needed it. I think I will get spare one incase (from elswhere for 1/2 price) . as said nice lads but dear

My steps were seized so took them off to give them a wire brush treatment and a paint. Amazing, what other car can you use a sledgehammer on?

Fitted some wheel arch clips n took it to the garage as its developed another knock!! Couldn't visibly n physically find anything, worrying as I'm going to Peterborough at the weekend!!

Its been raining all night and I noticed a big puddle in the back of the Defender. As I drove off a flood of water came in somewhere around the top of the rear door. That's anew one.

just been out silicone the roof gutters and inside the door seals dont like the driver anti fatigue system fitted to my fender, you get water in the face when its raining:rolleyes:

put my new 2nd hand drivers door on..

but also had to swop a load of bits off the old one..

also went into back garden n got attacked by next doors dogs.. so chased em back into their garden then threw all the dog sh1t over into their garden.. hope their kids choke on it!

Re-covered me drivers side seat, coz it was worn through!

Used the cover off a wheelchair seat and stitched it all together by hand using waxed twine and a sail-makers palm.

Was going to change my rear brakes till I realized its a 52mm hub nut not a 48mm like the socket I had. So I painted the rear calipers before I swap discs and pads over.

got a bit of the black on the chassis today. Undercoated it a few days ago
Apologies for the ****e camera phone photo

Looks much better than it did before, its a right chore wire brushing it all though. Luckily havent found any heavy corrosion that has needed power tools yet.

Quite enjoyed it in a weird way. 1/4 of the chassis down now, i have done the drivers side up to the front trailing arm and inwards to the a frame mounts.

Was finishing off the winch bumper with a third coat of black, nice and sunny so went inside and not long after it was ****ing it down

Now have to clean it up tomorrow to remove the water marked paint and re-do the coat

But :D I've pilfered some scaffolding for free so I can build a shelter! The weather may #### itself!

Taken my EGR valve off finally. It's transformed my 300tdi if oly I had done it sooner.

Shame I couldn't get the exhaust off though to decat it, try again soon 8(

yeah i did the undercoating with the back half of the 90 sticking out the garage, was sunny then absolutely smashed it down. All my tools were all over the drive, and it rained so hard the water bounced up and ruined my paint lol. ****ed me right off
